Tallahassee-based emo mathrock band, Pool Kids, took the stage at The Handlebar in Pensacola, FL on February 28th, a Tuesday night, and the crowd was ready for them. The venue was packed with fans, many of whom were shouting the lyrics back word for word.

From the moment the band took the stage, it was clear that they were in their element. Their unique blend of emo and mathrock, coupled with their high-energy performance, had the audience captivated from start to finish.

Lead singer and guitarist, Christine Goodwyne, delivered powerful vocals and intricate guitar riffs along with guitarist Andy Anaya that were perfectly complemented by the tight rhythm section of bassist Nicolette Alvarez and drummer Caden Clinton. Their chemistry on stage was undeniable, and the audience couldn't get enough.

The band played a mix of songs from their 2022 self-titled album "Pool Kids" and 2018's album "Music to Practice Safe Sex to". Every song was met with enthusiastic cheers and applause, but it was clear that some of the fan favorites were "$5 Subtweet" and "Unconscious Uncoupling".

As the night came to a close, the band thanked the crowd for their support and promised to come back to Pensacola soon. It was clear that the feeling was overwhelmingly mutual, as the audience erupted into cheers and applause.

Overall, Pool Kids' performance at The Handlebar was a night to remember. Their unique sound and high-energy performance had the crowd on their feet, and it was clear that the band has a dedicated following of fans who know every word to their songs. The concert marked the beginning of their tour alongside PUP and Joyce Manor, which will continue throughout March, followed by a European tour throughout April and May featuring La Dispute and Oceanator. We eagerly anticipate their return!
